Cheshire's Year of Gardens 2008, an exciting year long festival, will celebrate the rich dramatic heritage of the gardens and the fresh green environment in Cheshire. The passion for gardens is universal and attracts all ages. In Cheshire we have some of the finest examples in the world.
Cheshire has more gardens open to the public per head of population than anywhere else in the UK. In 2008 our neighbours in Liverpool celebrate a year as European Capital of Culture. In Cheshire we are launching Cheshire's Year of Gardens, the beginning of a programme to cherish, enhance and inspire, and bring to a wider audience the joys of our gardens, of all types and sizes, and the people who make them so distinctive. 2008 is just the start of an annual celebration, which will build on our huge variety of gardens and garden-related activity
